How does Thermo-Brace Sheathing compare to OSB and ZIP System?
ZIP System consists of an OSB board added to insulation foam, whereas Barricade Thermo-Brace SIB consists of a Thermo-Brace panel attached to BASF”s Neopor foam.
These systems are comparable in end use, but Barricade Thermo-Brace SIB serves as a 4-in-1 sheathing solution. This provides benefits like cost and labor efficiency and faster, easier install. See product benefits outlined on our Thermo-BraceSIB page.
When comparing a standard ZIP panel with no foam to Barricade Thermo-Brace lightweight sheathing, Barricade serves as a direct alternative for ZIP. Test data in comparison with a wooden structural panel can be found in our DRJ reports on our Downloads page.
What insulation properties do your products provide?
Our Thermo-Brace SIB provides S.M.A.R.T. insulation through BASF Neopor® GPS: stability and durability, moisture-management, adaptability to cool climate zones, resource efficiency and third-party validation and certification.
