Barricade Thermo-Brace SIB
4-in-1 Reversible Structural Insulated Sheathing Solution
Durable, Cost-Saving, and Faster Installation
Exclusively using BASF Neopor® GPS (Graphite Polystyrene) rigid foam in conjunction with Barricade Thermo-Brace, Thermo-Brace SIB is a reversible, lightweight, 4-in-1 structural sheathing solution that provides four layers of enforced protection against water, moisture vapor, mold, and more. Thermo-Brace SIB is today’s energy-efficient and cost-effective insulative solution for architects, contractors, and builders.
Introducing: Thermo-Brace® SIB GUARD
Patent-pending Barricade Thermo-Brace SIB GUARD is an energy-efficient, structural sheathing that wraps around the corner of a structure, creating a complete enclosure that joins two separate walls into one continuous unit, while providing structural, WRB, and AIB benefits. Thermo-Brace SIB GUARD stops air leaks and moisture penetration at corners and eliminates the need for corner flashing, saving time and money for builders, architects, contractors, and homeowners.
Available in continuous insulation versions R3 and R5.
1. Barricade Plus Facer
Weather-Resistant Barrier (WRB)
2. BASF Neopor® GPS
Unlike polyiso and XPS, Neopor GPS doesn’t use HFC gas agents for R-value, which can deplete over time. XPS only retains 90% of it’s initial R-value over its lifetime and the R-value of Neopor GPS is up to 30% higher than EPS (white foam).
3. Thermo-Brace Structural Sheathing
Thermo-Brace is a fiberboard structural sheathing with a composite core that provides the structural strength required while offering a more weather-resistant barrier than OSB. It costs less than OSB or ZIP System® and is lighter, easier to handle, cut, and install.
4. Thermo-Brace w/ WRB Facer
Additional weather-resistant barrier protection on the reverse side. Reversible installation allows for this side to be faced out or in. Available in reflective and non-reflective versions
4-in-1 REVERSIBLE SHEATHING SOLUTION
Our SIB products meet structural requirements with test results you can trust.
CONTINUOUS INSULATION MEETING ENERGY CODES
Two energy code options, R3 and R5, designed to resist conductive and convective heat flow with an outstanding thermal break system.
Meets AIB requirements while providing improved air barrier properties, increased indoor air quality, and fire resistance.
WEATHER-RESISTANT BARRIER (WRB)
Replaces the need for an additional layer of outside WRB protection, yet still protects against rain, water vapor, heat, cold, and more.
- Weather Resistant Weather-Resistant Barrier (WRB) on both sides of the product, offering double the protection
- Mold Resistant Guaranteed protection and increased resistance against mold
- Code Compliant Complies with 2012, 2015, and 2018 International Energy Codes & Neopor GPS is GREENGUARD certified for Gold Indoor Air Quality
- Cost Efficient Stable pricing and material savings that reduce energy consumption
- Faster, Easier Install Fewer materials mean lower costs, faster installation, and reduced labor costs
- Lightweight structure can be used up to 24 inches on center while still providing protection and strength to your building
Two 2018 energy code options, R3 and R5, designed to resist conductive and convective heat flow via an outstanding thermal break system.
SIB is especially suitable for northern local energy codes requiring R5 continuous insulation on the exterior walls.
Both options can be used in place of OSB. R3 and R5 both meet structural requirements with test results you can trust.
Replaces the need to add additional outside WRB protection – protects against rain, water vapor, heat, cold, and more.
